Learning The Do's and Don'ts of School Fundraising
UK schools receive a steady stream of requests from good causes for fundraising help. Sponsored toddles, walks and runs. Dress-down Fridays. Dress-up Fridays.
As part of their strategic planning the fundraising team at Great Ormond Street Hospital asked up to discover how school's themselves chose which causes to support.
We constructed a stratified sample covering schools of all types from different parts of the UK. We interviewed both headteachers and the schools' gatekeepers, the school secretaries.
The findings gave Great Ormond Street Hospital the clearest possible insight into how to approach schools with fundraising requests.
